What Is It?
The Johnson Sound is an archive of the recordings I, Gavin Johnson, have contributed bass to, the music I’ve created, and the bands I’ve been part of over the years.
It’s also home to a collection of photographs, press clippings, gig flyers, and videos that help tell the story behind the music.
Why?
Over the years, I’ve accumulated recordings dating back to the early 1990s on formats such as vinyl, cassette, and DAT. I wanted to preserve these recordings in a more modern digital format, making them easier to access, enjoy, and share with others.
Where material has been transferred from older formats, I’ve used light mastering and restoration tools to improve the listening experience where possible. Any officially released recordings remain faithful to their original masters.
Enjoy exploring the archive
